"Where ever you are, be all there"
Everyone’s life is driven by something... perhaps circumstances, a problem, a deadline,
or a commitment. It could be some strong emotions, a painful memory, a deep-rooted fear, a
strong belief or value. What is the driving force in your life?

Some people are driven by materialism. Their desire to acquire things, titles, money
becomes the sole focus of their life. This desire to always want more is based on the thought
process that possessing more things will make us happier, more important and more secure.
However, possessions can only provide temporary happiness; we eventually grow bored of
them and then desire newer, bigger, better versions of what we currently have. Similarly,
thinking that if I get more titles, more fame, I will be more important, is also a myth. Self-worth
and net-worth are not the same. Your value is not determined by your titles or your fame.
Having more money will not give you more security, because wealth can be lost in an instant,
through a number of factors that are outside our control.
Some people are driven by guilt. They allow their past memories to control their future,
constantly running from regrets and hiding their shame. They punish themselves by sabotaging
their own success. We are products of our past experiences, but we don’t have to be prisoners
of it. We must forgive our self and start afresh and do amazing things with the rest of our life.
That chapter of our life is over, close it and move on to the next one.
Some people are driven by anger. They hold on to grudges and pain, never getting over
them. They constantly repeat their pain over and over in their minds, instead of forgiving
themselves and others involved and releasing the pain. Some people internalize their anger,
hold it in; while others explode it onto others. Both these responses are unhelpful. Resentment
causes more harm than the person you resent; they have probably forgotten and moved on
with their life, while you keep living it every day of your life carrying the hurt and pain with you.
Learn your lesson and let your bitterness go, release it, an exciting life awaits you.

Some people are driven by fear. Fear of death, fear of judgement, fear of being alone.
Their fears may be due to some traumatic experience, unrealistic expectations, or growing up in
a very overprotected or demanding environment. These people often miss out on great
opportunities, because they are too scared to try. They are happy to play safe, in their comfort
zone, where they have been all their life. They avoid risks in any form, as their fear holds them
back. Fear is a self-imposed prison that stops you from even acknowledging the fact that you
are capable of achieving so much more, and that you can follow your heart’s desires and live an
adventurous life.
Some people are driven by the need for approval. They allow the expectations of their
parents, spouse, children, teachers, friends, boss, or society to control their life. They are always
worried by what others might think, or how others might judge them. Unfortunately, it is
impossible to please everyone. Their own dreams and desires are lost to being controlled by the
opinion of others.
There are various other factors that can be the driving force of your life, but all lead to a
dead end of unused potential, unnecessary stress and an unfulfilled or unsatisfied life unless
you live a purpose driven life, doing things that you were born to do. So my question to you is
what is the driving force of your life? What is the true purpose of your life? What do you want
the purpose of your life to be? What do you want the driving force of your life to be? May I
remind you, the choice is always your own.
It’s your life after all. Shouldn’t you be in the driver’s seat?
